Adam Szumski, PEL Senior Analyst

Adam has experience aggregating, analyzing, and summarizing complex financial and operational datasets and turning those data into actionable information for stakeholders.  This includes five-year budget projections; analyses of public safety calls for service and overtime data to inform staffing structure assessments; the impact of a school district merger on student transportation times and transportation expenditures; and the creation of user-interactive maps to remediate blighted properties and to drive federal tax incentives to communities in need. Adam also has practical experience in day-to-day municipal operations including the development of municipal budgets, bank reconciliations, payroll administration, and the migration of general ledger data to new financial software packages.

He previously worked at the International City/County Management Association, the Luzerne County Budget and Finance Department, and Tyler Technologies, Troy, MI., which is the largest national provider of integrated software and technology services to local governments. Most recently, he worked for HJA Strategies of New Jersey, a strategic consulting firm that provided local government technical assistance, among other services.

Adam earned a BA in political science from Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, and an MPA from the University of Pittsburgh.
